It's packaged in fractional units to accommodate various bag sizes. A full 'unit' of desiccant, at 77°F (25°C) and equilibrium with air, can absorb 3.00 grams of water at 20% rH and 6.00 grams at 40% rH, as tested by MIL-D-3464.
